Busy weekend ahead!

My baby is turning 5 on Sunday - I can't believe it and have been holding back tears for a week or two now. It's just craziness!

His party is Saturday - his beloved Pap-Pap is flying in with Nina and my mom and grandmother are driving out to join in the festivities. Our theme this year is Toy Story - can you say tough to find?!?! Leave it to my sweet (W) to pick a theme that's years old. I did well - got lots o' stuff for the theme - even edible cupcake toppers!

I haven't been around much - friend issues that have brought me down, but I'm slowly on the mend and rising above!

We found out almost 2 weeks ago that #3 is on his/her way! We're all so, so excited - due in mid-April and the boys want a sister and want her here RIGHT NOW!

I'm hoping to be around more - want to make this blog more interesting - want to add some pictures and fun stuff - it's pretty boring right now.

I do want to add this though:

These girls are AWESOME!! They have the BEST contests, hands down! The TV will come from Best Buy - check them out, too!

I'm off to make food for the weekend and put kidlets to bed. I hear my baby (J) singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider....it's the sweetest thing ever :)

Later ;)

Fun is our house this weekend!

In a few short hours, my sister T, her husband D and their sweet boys, Trev, almost 6 and G money, a little over 1 1/2 will be here - YAY!! They're driving out from Delaware to spend a few days with us and we're very excited. Our boys get along famously and it will be nice to sit back, enjoy some cocktails and watch our babies play in the back yard together.

We're hitting the zoo, the park AND the biggest boys are heading to the Tigers/White Sox game tomorrow night! My sis and I are taking (J) and G money to the park and we're going to indulge in some pizza :o) It's supposed to be ridiculously hot - I hope I don't melt. My best friend is central air!

Also, to add to our already fabulous weekend, my husband (B) and I are getting baptized on Sunday!!! We're very, VERY, excited about that - our growth in the Lord has gotten so much stronger as of late, thanks to our catechism class and some interesting talks we've had with each other and our small group leaders. It's such a joy to go to church every Sunday. Our boys love Sunday school, too - makes it that much better!

Here's to a FABELHAFT weekend ;o)

Yay and Ick! all in the same day

What a fun day we had today! I slept until 11:45 (heavenly!) and we headed out to the zoo. The weather was awesome (cloudy and cool) and the boys had so much fun (as did my wonderful husband and I). We had a yummy dinner at Applebee's and headed to the mall to buy (W) a new pair of sandals - 50% off at Stride Rite! Yay for that! I developed a headache at some point and felt yucky - came home, took a Motrin and did my catechism homework. Now, I feel like I'm going to hurl :( I want the yuckies to stay away.

Tomorrow, we have catechism and nursery duty, then it's off to the movies :) (B) is taking (W) to see Transformers, while I take (J) to see Ratatouille (or however it's spelled). (J) isn't a fan of loud noises, so I think Transformers will be too much. Then, it's home to relax, watch the race and work around here some.

Hope y'all enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

I swear, the contests these fabulous women put on are THE BEST!! Check them out!

Back into the swing o' things!

So, my blog was flagged as possible spam! But, I'm back now and all is well.

We're off on a vacation on Sunday - I can't wait. We'll be spending a day at the beach and acting like true tourists. We'll be hanging out at my moms, where she'll cook and I can watch TV. We'll go visit my in-laws, where I'll rarely see my children because they'll be off running around with my FIL. I'll be able to lie down on the couch and read books in peace. I'm just so, so excited.

I got to visit my friend E in her new house today - it's SO, SO cute! It's perfect for their family and the work they're doing on it is great - definitely brightens up the place and makes it look more modern.

I got rear-ended this morning :o( I have to take my van in on Thursday for an estimate - the little turd driving the other car hit my bumper and the cladding is cracked. Please, let's add a bit more stress to my life :o(

The fam is heading into the D tomorrow to see fireworks and the boys are uber geeked. They'll get to play with their friend Daniel. Thursday, we're headed out to see Barney and Bob the Builder and a PBS Kids Fair. Friday, (B) and I are heading to a concert - Chicago and America!! Ahhhhhhhhh---that's my kind of music. We're spending the night in a hotel and we're heading to the Buick Open on Saturday. (W)'s girlfriend (a teacher from his preschool) is watching them. I LOVE her because they love her, they couldn't care less when (B) and I leave and they have a great time with her and she takes great care of them. She's a dream come true.

Father's Day is up next!

One of my favorite websites, www.5minutesformom.com is having a great Father's Day giveaway. Go check it out!!

Happy Birthday to me!

33! 33? I still can't believe it! I had a great day - all spent with mi familia :o)

I got some great gifts - my husband decided on a "Detroit" theme this year and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything he got me! Our babies told me happy birthday about 50 times today and Will even told his friends and Sunday School teacher that today was my birthday :o) B also put my Mother's Day present together - I'll add pictures tomorrow. The weather was beautiful, our church service, catechism class and small group were AWESOME and the lunch I was treated to at Burger King was yummo :)

What a great day to turn 33!

Friends

The Lord has been working in me lately - mainly through my thoughts.

In Switzerland, I was blessed to have 3 of the best friends a girl could ask for - all VERY much like me. Two of the girls were American and one was Australian. All were beautiful Christian women and we shared so, so much - from issues with hurtful friends to pregnancy woes and we celebrated ANYTHING with lunch, shopping and coffee at Starbucks. It was just the best experience for me, as far as friends are concerned.

I miss these friends so, so badly - I haven't seen them in almost a year and it will probably be a long time before I see them again. We do email them from time to time and it feels great to reconnect.

I'm almost desperate for a connection like that now that I'm back in the U.S., but life is so different here. I have friends here - good friends. But, life is so, so busy here that we don't see each other that often and we're really not *that* much alike. The Lord is pushing me (for lack of a better term) to find more Christian friends. Our church is SOOOOOOOOOO big - we're going through catechism right now, working our way to applying for membership to the church. There are no other married couples in our catechism class. We live in a tiny town - no mom's groups around.

I guess I'm feeling a bit lonely. I need female friendships in my life. I had the best of the best in Switzerland and while I'm almost certain I won't experience that again, I'd like something that makes me feel half as good as I did then.

Anyone have any ideas for me?

Yay! It's the weekend!

Friday, glorius Friday!

B is taking a half day today, so we'll be spending 2 1/2 days as a family - YAY! Tomorrow, it's Tball and a birthday party at Build-A-Bear. Sunday, we have catechism and then it's home - to relax. Sunday is my 33rd birthday - YIKES! Where has the time gone, I wonder.

I've enjoyed 2 full days of spending almost every waking moment with my babies and it's been so nice. We've had so, so much fun together and they've been so well behaved. The boys share a room and we moved all of their stuff to a bigger room - they LOVE it! Sending them to bed has been a breeze - I hope it lasts.

We've spent a lazy morning watching Barney and The Cat in the Hat. It's so hot out now that it's not enjoyable being outside. We'll wait until the afternoon when the sun is around the front of the house. So, for now, it's the cool, comfortable living room for us!

Hope everyone has a great Friday :o)

It's a brand new day!

and a beautiful one at that!!

Time to move on from the weekend - what was supposed to be a fun-filled, relaxing weekend turned out to be one that included some fun, but also included lots of hurt feelings, sadness and all around uncomfortableness :o( After lots of praying, thinking, talking and more praying, I'm feeling at peace and ready to move on. The Lord is good - talking to Him about my feelings this past weekend has drawn me closer to Him - SUCH a good feeling and one that was really necessary.

(B) and I had some powerful conversations this weekend - they really drew us closer together, too. It was quite the eye-opening weekend for many!
